The Union will be celebrating 125 years of Rugby in our province during 2011.
This is a significant milestone for the Union and will be celebrated in fine fashion.
A committee has been formed to plan for the Jubilee weekend of Friday 15th, Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July. It is the opening weekend of the ITM Cup and our Manawatu Turbos vs Hawke's Bay match at FMG Stadium will be the main feature of the 125th celebrations. Other events include....
- Friday 15th July:
- Golf 12pm at Manawatu Golf Club
- Mix n Mingle Drinks 7pm at Hotel Coachman
- Saturday 16th July:
- Pre-Match Gathering 12 noon at FMG Stadium
- Curtain Raiser 12.30pm PNBHS v Rotorua BHS
- ITM Cup Rugby at 2.35pm Manawatu Turbos vs Hawke's Bay
- After Match 4.15pm Supporters Club, Barber Hall
- Jubilee Dinner 7.30pm at Awapuni Function Centre
- Sunday 17th July:
- Manawatu Club Rugby
A 125th Manawatu Dream Team will be selected and announced at Saturday’s Dinner which will be MC’ed by former Manawatu oldboy and TV broadcaster Hamish McKay.
