Turbos at IPC
Tomorrow (14 July) marks the first of five Public Trainings for the Turbos this season. The team will be making their way out to the International Pacific College where they have been invited to have lunch with students and staff.
Following this the Turbos will be conducting an interactive session where the students will be taken through some basic drills. Unfortunately due to the recent bad weather the Turbos have had to cancel their own training at IPC which was scheduled to follow the interactive events.
"With a high percentage of the students being from overseas, some of them have never heard of rugby before and this is a great opportunity for them to learn and experience New Zealand's National game" says James Buchanan, part of the staff at IPC.
It is hoped this could be the start of a budding relationship between the MRU and the IPC, with the IPC starting their own rugby programme this year entering a Colts team which are currently sitting in first place in the Premier Colts division.
