Workshop - Looking ahead to Rugby World Cup
Preparing for the Rugby World Cup next year is main focus of a workshop to be held early next month in Palmerston North. Invitations have been sent out to local rugby clubs and secondary schools to attend the two-hour workshop.
The Manawatu Rugby Union workshop will be held in the Referees' Room (FMG Stadium) on Wednesday 1 September 2010, starting at 7pm.
The workshop will be an opportunity for community rugby administrators to gain ideas and material which will assist them in reviewing and planning for the year ahead as well as sharing ideas with other club and school rugby administrators.
Topics include:
1. Review
• 2010 Registrations - announce final figures for players, referees and coaches
• Plans: Strategic/Annual Plans reviewed
• Season Review: If no Strategic/Annual Plans then formalised method of reviewing Club/School season including Coaches
2. Looking ahead to 2011
Planning
• Plans: Strategy/Annual Plans updated
• Club Personnel: key personnel in place
• Club Essentials : Stock take done and gear/equipment identified
• Budgeting: 2011 Club Budget formalised, as well as Cashflow
• Funding: Funding Plan developed/updated
RWC 2011 (September to October)
• Three proposed community projects:
o Sign the Jersey
o Pass the Ball
o NZ Rugby Passport:
• Discussion: Preparing clubs/schools for an increase in playing numbers
