2012 Tony's Tyre Service Senior 1 Round 19 Round Up

College Old Boys will face off against Varsity in next week's Tony's Tyre Service Senior 1 Hankins Shield final after wins in their respective semifinals on Saturday.

COB hosted Kia Toa at FMG Stadium in what was an enthralling match with Kias where the lead bounced between the two teams throughout the 80 minutes. However, College held onto their nerve to win.

Varsity repelled the challenge of Te Kawau, but only just. Extra time was needed to separate the teams with the scores locked at 23-all after 80 minutes. In the end it was the defending champions that prevailed, 26-23, and book their third successive Hankins Shield final spot.

In the Val Holland Memorial Trophy semifinals, Feilding Old Boys Oroua defeated Freyberg 28-20 to book a place in the final where they will play Old Boys Marist who won against Feilding Yellows, 68-31..

Both finals, as well as Colts and Senior 2 finals will be played at Arena Manawatu this Saturday. Match times and teams competing will be posted on the MRU website on Monday morning.
