This will be a monthly newsletter advising of General Updates from the Junior Rugby Board

Welcome all to the Manawatu Junior Rugby Season we are now into week 6.

JUNIOR REFEREES

Great to see young up in coming referees on the rugby fields in junior grades , give them all the support you can
they are learning too , we need to encourage them as much as possible.

DISPENSATIONS

The Board have now finalised most of the Classification & Dispensation issues we deal with in the early part
of the season and we thank those convenors & coaches for their co-operation.

It is always our intention to keep everyone happy but this is not always possible as we look to the benefit of the
competition as a whole.

To the many coaches managing their teams and dispensated players effectively to control blowouts, well done to
you guys , keep it up.

Please keep in mind that dispensations can be reassessed at any stage throughout the season and a player or team
can be regraded or retrictions can be implemented at the discretion of the Board.

THE DRAW

There will be a new competition draw commencing from 13/06. Points will begin again for the U-11 grade , U-12 grade & U-13 grade as new teams have now entered.

The draw is working great and Chris is most appreciative of having the scores in on time. Well done Coaches and Convenors. You can access the results and standings form the website. Always check the draw weekly to catch up with any changes that have been made since otriginal publication, this often occurs.

Be advised that next weeks round of games (20th June) will commence earlier than usual as the Allblacks play in Wellington, not his week, as previously communicated.

PLAYER / SUPPORTERS CONDUCT.

This is an area we must be vigilant in , We as coaches are the Role models for our players. Incidents do occur on our fields , If we control what we can from within we can lessen the impact of unacceptable player or sideline conduct.

Players will follow the lead of other players , unacceptable conduct by players on the field must be addressed by the
Coach / Referee to halt this type of conduct growing into a culture.

When addressed from within players will soon learn what is acceptable and what is not in your team.

Supporters play a major role in growing a positive culture in a team. Negative comments or actions towards players
or the referee are not acceptable. Enlist the help of some positive parents to help you police the sideline
behavior of your own supporters.

REPS

Rep coaches are now out and about viewing players for the up coming Representative season Players in the
U-12 & 13 grade give it heaps , you may get to play in Green.

Regards From the Chair - Doug Bettridge
