Firstly, Doug Tietjens was named the new MRU Chief Executive. Many of you will know Doug best from when he donned the green and white for the Turbos from 2008 to 2011.

HURRICANES POUA VISIT MANAWATŪ SCHOOLS

While the Hurricanes Poua were in camp at Massey University's Sport and Rugby Institute last week, the MRU Game Development team arranged for the players to visit eight local schools.

A huge thanks goes to the Poua players and management for making this possible. The kids clearly loved interacting with the players, playing the games they organised, and getting their hands on free Poua merchandise.

The feedback from the Poua has been incredibly positive, so we hope we can run more community engagement activities like this in the future.
