PLAYERS JUMP AT DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Over the past few weeks we have run a number of clinics to help players upskill.

We had a great turn out for our scrum, tackling, and kicking clinics for women and girls. The scrum clinic was a key initiative for us as the Prue Christie Cup women's club competition will include contestable scrums.

Last Sunday we had 80 players take part in our under 14 and under 16 development clinics as part of Manawatū Rugby's Pathways strategy. Our coaches took the players through drills to help improve their footwork, passing, decision-making, tackling, speed, and how they get back in the game after a tackle.

There are still spaces available for our Under 18 development clinic:

When - Monday 15 April, 9am-3pm
Where - Manawatū Rugby Performance Centre, 28 Waldegrave Street

RIPPA TOURNAMENTS ACROSS THE PROVINCE

We recently held four rippa tournaments for kids around the Manawatū. One of the benefits of these tournaments is that they give kids who play other winter sports the opportunity to play rugby during school time. Hopefully we'll have a few rugby converts out the tournaments.
