Club Finals moved to Arena, other grades cancelled
Following consultation with New Zealand Rugby, the Manawatū Rugby Union have relocated the four McDonald's Manawatū Club Rugby finals to Central Energy Trust Arena and cancelled all remaining MRU games this Saturday.
With the health and safety of our players and stakeholders being of the utmost importance, the Manawatū Rugby Union has taken a procautionary approach for community rugby.
The Hankins Shield Senior One Final between Varsity and Feilding Yellows will now kickoff at 3pm at Central Energy Trust Arena field one.
The Prue Christie Cup Women's final between Feilding Old Boys-Ōroua and Kia Toa will kickoff at 12.30pm at Central Energy Trust Arena field one.
The Life Members' Cup Senior 3 final between Kia Toa Kavs and Massey Vets will kick off at 2.45pm at Central Energy Trust Arena field three.
The Gordon Brown Memorial Cup Colts final between Feilding Yellows v Wanganui Metro will kick off at 12.30pm at Central Energy Trust field four.
Spectators will not be able to any of the finals unless the COVID-19 Alert Level is reduced to Level 1.
Manawatū Rugby is investigating the possiblity of the Hankins Shield and Prue Christie Cup finals being live streamed.
All Manawatū Rugby Union Junior Rugby from Under 6 to Under 12 is cancelled for this weekend.
All Manawatū Rugby Union Secondary Schools Rugby, youth and premier grades are cancelled for this weekend.
Senior club grades which are not in the finals phase of the competition, Senior 2 Club Rugby and Presidents Rugby, are also cancelled.
These cancellations will remain in place regardless of if the Government's COVID-19 alert level is lowered after Friday evening.
