Cyclones fall to Canterbury

Canterbury proved too good for the Cyclones winning 48-12 in Palmerston North on Sunday

The Cyclones fought hard till the end scoring two second half tries through Ruby Finau and Kalyn Takitimu-Cook.

Ruby Finau powered over the line taking two defenders with her to get the Cyclones on the board.

While Carys Dallinger gave an offload to Kalyn Takitimu-Cook and she raced away to the corner and converted her own try.

Canterbury, coming in at the top of the table, proved to be too good on the day for the Cyclones.

They notched eight tries in the match and earned a bonus point win in Palmerston North.

Becky Davidson scored the first try for both teams.

In the first half, Phillipa Love, Jessie Hansen and Stephanie Te Ohaere-Fox would find themselves over the line for Canterbury.

While the second half had more try scorers for Canterbury, the Cyclones answered back with a couple tries of their own.

The final try was scored by the Cyclones showing the backbone and fight of the Manawatu Cyclones.
