Vacancy: Performance Manager
The Manawatū Rugby Union are excited to recruit a Performance Manager to lead its performance programme.
You will have outstanding vision, leadership accountability - including people management experience and excellent stakeholder relationship skills - and experience in talent ID and contracting.
You are responsible for the development and implementation of performance strategy which will ultimately result in long-term sustainability of the MRU’s performance programme.
This is a senior management position which represents an exciting and rare opportunity to ensure MRU’s performance programmes are aligned throughout all areas of the representative programme.

The Performance Manager is responsible for the implementation of Performance Player Programmes in Manawatū to develop young players (Men & Women) into exceptional young people and Turbos and Cyclones.
This Role is to ensure collaboration, consistency, and co-ordination across Performance in all business units both internal and external
To have a sound knowledge of the Union’s goals and objectives and to contribute to the achievement of these to the best of his or her ability.
The Performance Manager is responsible for the management of Cyclones and Turbos and all performance staff.
The Manawatū Rugby Union's purpose is to lead, grow and support rugby in Manawatū. That includes the 5500 community participants in our region each year along with our representative programmes and our two flagship teams the Cyclones and the Turbos.
The three major priorities for MRU are:
- One Team, One Whanau - We are Manawatū Rugby, we have 5,550 community rugby players and two performance teams in the Cyclones and Turbos, all of which we are incredibly proud of.
