Vacancy: Women's and Inclusion Lead
The Manawatū Rugby Union have a great opportunity for an individual to re-think and re-shape how rugby is grown for women and girls in our province while also leading initiatives to grow the game for non-traditional participants.
The Game Development: Women's and Inclusion Lead will form part of our community-rugby-minded Game Development team.
The role will lead the growth of women's and girls' rugby in Manawatū, working with the game development team and leading the Pouāki-ā-Hine (Activator - Females), to grow opportunities in our region.
As part of the Game Development team, you will be willing to re-imagine the way we deliver rugby and how we support the community game.
The key purposes of the role are to:
The purpose of this role is to champion rugby within the Manawatū Rugby Union community, with a particular emphasis on Diversity and Inclusion and Women’s rugby, improving the engagement and opportunities in rugby.
Working with the Game Development team, the focus is on keeping players in the game and helping drive new participants to take up our sport while paying special attention to the transition phases in which player typically stop being part of our rugby community.

The Manawatū Rugby Union's purpose is to lead, grow and support rugby in Manawatū. That includes the 5500 community participants in our region each year along with our representative programmes and our two flagship teams the Cyclones and the Turbos.
The three major priorities for MRU are:
