Development XV to venture across the saddle

Dannevirke to host Development XV

The Manawatu Development XV will keep with their tradition of spreading home games across the province. The side recently named by coach Blair Van Stipriaan and assistant Glen Christini will host their first fixture of the year at the newly revamped Bill Brown Park against Horohwenua Kapiti this coming weekend (11th) which will be followed by a trip across the ranges to Dannevirke Rugby Park where the team will host Wairarapa Bush.

The Manawatu side who also played in Pahiatua last year against the Wellington Maori have seen great value in spreading games amongst the community.

Community Rugby Manager Ben Koch said "it was a great opportunity for the clubs to host a top level representative match where there was an opportunity for the locals to catch a glimpse of up and coming Turbos".

The initiative has been supported by the loca clubs with Bunnythorpe, Bush and now Dannevirke clubs hosting matches.
