Manawatu teams ready for Sevens Nationals

Both the Gary Douglas Engineers Manawatu sevens teams will head to the Bayleys National Sevens Tournament in Rotorua this weekend full of confidence after some recent good form.

Both the Gary Douglas Engineers Manawatu sevens teams will head to the Bayleys National Sevens Tournament in Rotorua this weekend full of confidence after some recent good form.

Both teams were successful at the Bay of Plenty Sevens at Mount Maunganui last weekend with the women defeating Auckland by two points in the open final, while the men crushed Auckland by 35 points in the plate final.

The women, the defending national champions, play North Harbour, Otago and Waikato on day one of the Nationals, while the men clash against Counties Manukau, Northland and South Canterbury on the opening day.
