Four players from the Manawatū have been selected for a New Zealand Rugby Under 19 development camp next week.

Vernon Bason (hooker – College Old Boys, Manawatū Turbos), Sam Coles (utility back – Varsity), Liam O’Connor (first five-eighth – Palmerston North Boys’ High School) and Logan Wallace (prop – Palmerston North Boys’ High School) are among the 50 players chosen for the camp.

Bason was part of the New Zealand Under 20s squad this year, Wallace represented New Zealand Schools, and O’Connor played for New Zealand Barbarians Under 18s.

The camp, which starts on 13 November, will place an emphasis on development and preparation for the athletes as they look ahead to the Super Rugby Under 20 competition, from which the New Zealand Under 20s squad will be selected.

Throughout the camp, the players will be supported by a group of leading coaches from across the country. The coaches will assist players with their skill development and ensure they finish the camp knowing what steps they need to take for future success.
