MANAWATŪ CYCLONES SQUAD NAMED FOR 2025

The Manawatū Cyclones are proud to unveil their squad for the 2025 Farah Palmer Cup season presented by Bunnings Warehouse.

Head Coach Bryce Grant says this year’s selection reflects a refined and versatile group, with a strong local flavour and an eye toward future development:

"The Cyclones are excited to announce our squad for the upcoming season. This year’s selection reflects a broader group, as we will not be drawing from a separate development team.

Our coaching staff has focused on assembling a dynamic and versatile squad, blending experienced returnees with promising young talent. We’ve also placed strong emphasis on recognising players who impressed during the recent club season, particularly those who stood out locally and demonstrated the skill, work ethic, and commitment required at the next level.

Among the group are several players we’ve identified as having the potential to progress further in the game, and we’re excited to support them on that journey. With depth across multiple positions and a balance of youth and experience, we’re confident this group can continue to build on our identity and represent the Cyclones with pride, intensity, and resilience.

We can’t wait to see them in action."

After joining the Cyclones environment as development players in 2024, Te Maia Sweetman and Keira Mete-Renata have both earned full squad selection for 2025.

Their elevation reflects their strong growth, commitment, and performances over the past year, a clear example of the Cyclones' player development pathway in action.
