MANAWATU SCHOOLS READY TO RIP INTO TOURNAMENTS

Manawatu Rugby Union are set to roll out rippa rugby tournaments next week with an increased number of teams entered for 2021!

Junior Cup will be contested by primary school pupils on Wednesday with 38 teams entered – up from 29 teams last year. 2020 saw Riverdale School come away with the cup as a result from a try right on the full-time hooter.

Thursday will have the Mark Donaldson Cup, an open age up to Year 8 tournament that did not go ahead in 2020 due to COVID and weather, with 23 teams ready to battle for the 2021 title.

On the same day will have Sam Strahan Cup challenged by intermediate schools with a roll under 120 pupils with 7 teams entered.
