VACANCY – MANAWATŪ ACADEMY/UNDER 19 HEAD COACH


Manawatū Rugby is seeking applications for the role of Manawatū Academy/Under 19 Head Coach.

This is an opportunity for an experienced coach to help shape Manawatū Rugby’s up-and-coming young players.

The coach will be responsible for identifying players and selecting a squad for the Academy/Under 19 men's campaign. The coach will lead the squad for the entirety of the campaign, which runs from November 2023 to September 2024.

We are seeking applicants who:

  •  have demonstrated experience in coaching
  •  are passionate about Manawatū Rugby and helping it succeed
  •  have a knack for identifying talent
  •  encourage players to develop their leadership and self-reliance qualities
  •  place an emphasis on player welfare
  •  are enthusiastic and committed, and bring a professional attitude.

THE KEY PURPOSES OF THE ROLE ARE TO:

Lead the Manawatū Rugby Union’s men’s representative Academy and U19 programme in a coaching capacity. Collaborate with the MRU around the planning of the campaign. Lead a player-focused campaign that balances on-field results with quality experiences that grow and develop players.

The Manawatū Rugby Union's purpose is to lead, grow and support rugby in Manawatū. That includes the 5500 community participants in our region each year along with our representative programmes and our two flagship teams the Cyclones and the Turbos.
