Bryce Grant Appointed Head Coach of the Manawatū Cyclones

The Manawatū Rugby Union is proud to confirm the appointment of Bryce Grant as Head Coach of the Cyclones for the 2025 Bunnings Warehouse Farah Palmer Cup season.

Bryce has been an integral part of the Cyclones coaching staff, serving as Assistant Coach in both 2023 & 2024, where he brought exceptional energy, planning, and care to the programme. His promotion is a natural next step and a reflection of his commitment to high performance and his deep connection to the women’s rugby community in Manawatū.

“It’s a privilege to step into the role of Head Coach for the Cyclones,” said Grant. “I want to acknowledge the strong foundation that has been laid, one that we are ready to build on with ambition and purpose. With the backing of our dedicated coaching staff, management team, and a fiercely talented group of women, we’re ready to take the next step.”

Cyclones players will return for their induction on Monday, July 14, following the completion of the club rugby season.

Doug Tietjens, CEO of the Manawatū Rugby Union, said:

Wesley Clarke, Head of Performance at MRU, also endorsed the appointment:
